Forthcoming Work Parties

Spring preparation in the woodland.

Bank clearing

When?  Saturday 3rd March 10-12 noon.

Work parties will be held on the first Saturday of the month 10am – 12 noon (weather permitting) commencing on:

Saturday 7th April    10-12 noon

Where? Meet in the Clearing in Montefiore Woodland.

What? Tasks : Hopefully we will receive a delivery of wood chippings to spread along as many pathways as possible. Shovels and wheelbarrows will be useful. The clearing of shoots of Alexander, Bramble from paths, and our on-going litter collection.

When? to be confirmed in 2018

Where? Meet in the Clearing in Montefiore Woodland.

What?  To count the number of butterflies seen in the woodland for the national survey big butterfly count.

The opening of a Moth Trap to show the various species of moths that can be found locally.

Bat Walks.

When?  These to resume on the final Friday of each month in June, July and August 2018.Dates and times to be confirmed.

Where? Meet in the Clearing in Montefiore Woodland walking to King George VI Park and back.

What? An evening stroll at sunset, commencing at the woodland to count the number of bat sightings for national survey.

Come along to this interesting evening and find out more about these beautiful, mysterious, nocturnal visitors to our local area.
