Spring has sprung in the woodland.

Work parties will be held on the first Saturday of the month 10am – 12 noon (weather permitting) commencing on:


Saturday 3rd August, 2019 10am – 12 noon, (plus big butterfly count)

Saturday 7th September, 2019 10am – 12 noon,

Where? Meet in the Clearing in Montefiore Woodland.

What? Tasks :  Our on-going litter collection, ivy removal and general tidy up!

When? Saturday 3rd August 10am – 12 noon (during work party)

Where? Meet in the Clearing in Montefiore Woodland.

What?  To count the number of butterflies seen in the woodland for the national survey big butterfly count.

Plus an opportunity to see a variety of moths trapped in the local area from the night before.

Community Evening Bat Strolls around the woodland and in the local area.

Bat Strolls are held on the LAST Friday of the summer months.


Friday 30th  Aug – 7:30pm PLUS the opening of our Moth Trap kindly funded by Michelle Fenner from the Councillors Community Fund.

NB Do check our website for last minute updates as these walks only take place if weather conditions are favourable and may change!

Where? Meet in the Clearing in Montefiore Woodland.

What? An informative talk regarding bats in the local area followed by a gentle stroll within the woodland, along the alleyways to King George VI Park, then returning back to the woodland to see what the moth trap/light has attracted.
